Hello everyone it's been a while since my last report but I am back from my Colorado Elk hunt and it's time to start fishing. We didn't see a single bull in the unit we were hunting but still ended up with two bull elk to take home thanks to the Colorado parks and wildlife. There is a crazy story behind it but maybe one day we can talk about it on the river.
I had a 4 boat party out today and we had to go on an adventure to find fishable water due to the amount of rain we have had over the past few days. I found myself on a piece of water I have never fished and ended up having a pretty darn good day. All of the boats were catching fish and the family I took fishing was enjoying some much needed time on the river.
Each boat caught a bunch of halfpounders and a few nice adult steelhead. We were pulling plugs like the old days and side drifting yarn and eggs. The winter steelhead season is less than a month away and we will be runing trips on the Klamath, Smith, and Chetco rivers this year. If you haven't got your trip booked you might want to get on the ball. I am getting ready to send out my announcement and the dates will go fast.
