NEWPORT, Ore – August 27 is now added to the Columbia River Subarea all-depth recreational Pacific halibut fishery which was closed in June due to the initial allocation being caught.

ODFW, in coordination with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife determined there is enough quota remaining in other Washington and Oregon subareas to allow the Columbia River Subarea all-depth season to open for one additional day, Friday, Aug. 27. The subarea runs from Leadbetter Point, WA to Cape Falcon, OR.

Anglers are reminded to immediately record landed halibut on the combined angling tag. The Pacific halibut limit is one per day, six per year.
