The Trask River from 200 ft above and 900 ft below Gold Creek at Trask Hatchery (this includes the “hatchery hole”) is closed to fishing July 16 to Oct. 15.
The Dam Hole (Mile Post 7 on Trask River Road up to Blue Ridge Creek) will close to all fishing Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.
Anglers will find sea-run cutthroat trout throughout the Trask, and in both the North and South Forks. Resting pool surveys observed decent numbers throughout the fishery. Check the regulations for open areas and bait restrictions.
Fall Chinook opened in the Trask on Aug. 1, but the fishing is slow and there probably won’t be much happening above tidewater until we get some rain later in the Fall.
The Trask River is also open to hatchery coho and does get a hatchery run. As with Chinook, there probably won’t be a lot in the river above tidewater, but with decent numbers being observed in the bay, and the early returning nature of this run, there could be a few sneaking in.
