The Kilchis is getting low but is still fishable. There should be a few winter steelhead showing up but being a mostly wild steelhead river (catch-and-release only for wilds) numbers will be low. The steelhead run on the Kilchis peaks January through March.
The Mapes Creek (logging bridge) boat ramp was damaged in the storm and it will take some time to get it cleared. Boaters should use extreme caution and check the ramp before launching there.
