Fall Chinook fishing has been slow to fair on the Trask. Very few, if any, hatchery coho are still available. Water conditions were high and muddy early in the week, but should improve over the Thanksgiving holiday. Bobber fishing bait, back-bouncing, back-trolling plugs or divers and bait, or casting spinners can all be effective methods. No winter steelhead have been reported yet, but the occasional summer steelhead is still being caught.
Anglers are reminded that the dam hole (MP 7 on Trask River Rd up to Blue Ridge Creek) is closed to fishing Sept. 1 - Nov. 30
