Winter steelhead fishing typically peaks on the Yaquina January-March. Fishing has been challenging the past few weeks but it’s starting to pick up.
As with the rest of the mid coast basins with the recent rains coming in, conditions went from poor to fair. With some of the incoming rain we saw the past week we should see opportunities improve.
Trout fishing in streams closed on Oct. 31 and will reopen on May 22.
